Description: Students will start by learning about proper proportions. Then you will mount a blank in the chuck, rough out the blank and begin hollowing the end grain. Students will then make a lidded box by hollowing the box and lid, fitting them together, and turning away the mounting tenons. Safety is emphasized while students sharpen the bowl gouge and scraper, mount the wood, and make the end grain hollowing cuts. After this class, students should be able to make a lidded box on their own.
