A very dramatic and rustic wall hanging called “Gargoyle”. It is made out of a large slab of Elm Burl and Maple. I sculpted this piece myself, on my lathe.
I intentionally left the natural bark and rough exterior on much of the Elm Burl so that it would contrast with the smooth, straight lines of the maple. There is also (obviously) a strong contrast between the dark brown/grey of the Elm Burl with the almost stark white of the Maple. I call this piece "Gargoyle" because of the hidden face (or faces) in it.
This piece makes a strong statement and leaves an impression on the viewer. Think how this would look in your home, office or your business.
It is 32 ½” tall, 26” wide (at widest) and 7” thick (at thickest). Sizes are approximate, within ½”
It is pre-hung with eye hooks and wire on the back. The final picture show the inscription placed on the side of the piece. It has my name, the year it was created, the title of the piece and the word "Spiritwolf". Family legend has that this was a long ago ancestors surname and is placed on all my sculptural pieces as a way to pay homage to my ancestors.
You will receive the actual piece pictured.
